Energy Saving Trust has appointed two new non-executive directors to its group board, expanding the range and depth of expertise at a time of rapid development for the organisation. Dr Joanne Wade OBE and Eric Guillaume will formally take on the role on 1 December 2022.
Dr Joanne Wade brings with her 30 years’ experience in the energy sector spanning energy efficiency, energy justice and local energy systems. Joanne is currently chief strategic advisor at the Association for Decentralised Energy and chairs the advisory board for the Centre for Research on Energy Demand Solutions, as well as the UK Energy Research Centre’s research committee. She was previously CEO at the Association for the Conservation of Energy.
Her experience will be an important asset to Energy Saving Trust as it continues its mission to tackle the climate emergency and galvanise the transition to net zero.
Dr Joanne Wade said: “This is a pivotal time for the energy sector in this country as we aim to reduce carbon emissions while addressing energy demand, security and costs. Energy Saving Trust has an important role in driving action, and I welcome the opportunity to help shape the company’s strategy for impact.”
Eric Guillaume has over 20 years’ experience in digital leadership roles and transformation consultancy in the commercial and public sectors. Eric is also a non-executive on the Notting Hill Genesis operations board. He was previously a non-executive director for the UK parliament from 2018 until 2022, advising on parliament’s digital transformation as well as the restoration and renewal project of the Palace of Westminster. He specialises in helping CEOs and boards understand the impact of digital disruption on their companies and has worked with clients including HMRC, ITV plc and Ogilvy advertising agency.
Eric’s experience in digital transformation will support Energy Saving Trust as it aims to increase its impact and develop new digital products and services to help householders, businesses and the public sector transition to net zero.
Eric Guillaume said: “The development and deployment of digital approaches and technologies will have a crucial role to play in solving the climate and energy crises. As a board member I aim to support Energy Saving Trust to develop its vision, capabilities and impact in this area to drive forward positive change.”
